Cerf Island

Cerf Island was named after Le Cerf, a French frigate ship which made port at Victoria on 1 November 1756. Captain Corneille Nicholas Morphey claimed the island by laying a Stone of Possession on Mahe, which now resides in the National Museum in Victoria.

Situated in the Sainte Anne National Marine Park of Seychelles, Cerf island is an Oasis of Tranquility only four kilometres from the main island Mahe and less than two kilometres from Moyenne Island, the smallest National Park of Seychelles.
